Old Oil Painting of Miss Mary Edith Brown

It was a moth-eaten black and white photograph of the mid-twentieth century placed in a corner of the college library. The legendary founder of Christian Medical College was timely revived by me, during the centenary celebrations. The young lady doctor is captured in her colorful attire and it is a fitting tribute and a thoughtful gift of the artist to many generations of medical students. Dame Edith Brown overlooks all who enter the college Chapel in her majestic colors and regal appearance. It is an indelible symbol for the medical fraternity and a beautiful memorial for the grand old lady of Punjab and a symbol of healing and health.
